Joyce & Danny McLeod are both strong singers with a real love of singing and a great interest in the folk tradition. They are now performing as a duo after previously performing as half of the quartet Salt of the Earth.

Joyce & Danny come from Newcastle upon Tyne, in the northeast of England, where they joined Salt of the Earth in 1998 to perform unaccompanied traditional songs, as well as some modern material written in the traditional vein.

The duo's wide repertoire covers themes of love, hate, war, death and songs of the sea -- and their harmonies are beautifully blended. Although Joyce and Danny are relatively new as a performing duo, word is out on the folk grapevine that this is an exciting group to hear. It doesn't hurt that praise has come from strong folk performers such as Bob Walser and Dave Webber.
